Looking back at the 14th five-year plan period, in China, the polyols production in 2024 increased by nearly 30% compared with 2020. The global polyols trade exports have surged to 20% yoy in the first half of 2025, while the growth of emerging markets exceeded 50%.

At the conference, Mr. Lv Guohui, secretary-general of the China Polyurethane Industry Association, first delivered the opening speech. He underscored a fundamental truth that the polyurethane industry owes its very existence to the humble yet indispensable polyol. The Industry Association is a catalyst that will leverage the role of bridges and bonds to empower resource integration, tech collaboration, and help industry-university-research-application talent development. According to the Chinese 15th Five-Year Plan proposals, Mr. Lv also points out the highlights and mid- to long-term directions. We should set priorities for PU industrial policy, tech self-reliance, and sustainable, high-quality growth.
