• The first synthesis of detergents had been successfully produced in China in 1958. By the '60s, the detergent industry started to play a pivotal role in China's national economy, especially after the rapid development of joint venture factories with large international companies. According to data reports, the per capita consumption of detergents in 2000 was 10kg/year. With the improvement in living standards, new opportunities and challenges have been raised for the detergent industry. There is a bleaching detergent favored by environmental protection people that covers multiple effects, such as whitening, brightening, disinfecting, sterilizing, and cleaning. • In the international market, 90% of detergents in Europe are oxygen-based agents. Looking back to 2001, the US demand for oxygen-based agents had been driven, with a global annual growth rate of 20%. Sodium percarbonate and sodium perborate are the most common main ingredients of the oxygen-based agents' family. However, due to their strong stability, those two bleaching agents are only active when the temperature exceeds 70°C, which hurts both synthetic fibers and woolen fabrics. Thus, the promotion of oxygen-based agents had been stuck.

Sodium percarbonate is an excellent detergent and bleaching agent based on hydrogen peroxide. It is a good cleaning and bleaching agent at normal temperatures and has a strong fungicide effect.
